Kansas City Chiefs State They Are Aware of Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Player Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment Wednesday night stating they have knowledge of claims of abuse made public in online accounts by a former girlfriend of player the athlete and were in contact with the league office.
The team did not mention the player specifically in their announcement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Allegations Shared on Social Media
Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention Rice by name, posted a series of photos on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She stated the individual in question was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.

No police reports were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have occurred.
Rice's Recent Legal Issues
The receiver missed the first six games of this NFL campaign following an NFL suspension for his role in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that resulted in several individuals hurt. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
Statistically, Rice finished the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a decade.
