Plane Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield
A plane transporting Pete Hegseth was required to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an official announcement which verified that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft landed following standard protocol and everyone onboard, such as Pete Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson said in a public statement.
The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to Brussels at the time.
This occurrence is not the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet transporting a top government figure has suffered mechanical issues.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane transporting Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was forced to turn back to the US capital after experiencing a mechanical problem.
