Renowned Star Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.

Stateside entertainer Finn, who appeared in popular programs such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, as reported by reports.

"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - only friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones said in a announcement.

They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".

A Prolific TV Career

Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.

He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.

During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several hit series, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • "Friends"
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House

His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.

His film credits encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

A Life in Improv

Beyond his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.

He was involved with a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.

"He guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.

Offering condolences, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted publicly.

The actor is leaves behind his wife Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
