Slot Maintains He Feels Secure and Has Liverpool's Support Following PSV Eindhoven Defeat

Arne Slot admitted that it was understandable for questions to be asked about his future after another convincing defeat against the Dutch champions.

The Reds suffered their 9th loss in 12 games, representing the club's worst streak after being demoted in the 1953-54 season.

They were taken apart by the Dutch league title holders on a tough evening at their home ground.

“I am feeling safe, I am OK, I have got plenty of backing from the top,” the coach commented.

“It would be nice to change things and earn three points of course but if you are in a managerial role and not doing well then it is normal that people question you.”

He continued, “I am OK with my position. This isn't the initial instance I've found myself in a tough spot but it's crucial that we changed our fortunes.”

Discussions with Liverpool Hierarchy

Upon being questioned to provide details on his discussions with the club's leadership, Slot explained:

“There's regular dialogue. They assist for the squad and for me and we have those conversations but they aren't calling me constantly of the day to say they have faith in me.”

He mentioned, “During our regular exchanges I sense the belief. But I've not talked to them since this game yet so let’s see.”

Recurring Problems and Squad Response

Slot highlighted familiar weaknesses from his Liverpool side in their European defeat, namely poor finishing and defensive lapses.

Meanwhile, midfielder Jones was more forthright in his evaluation of the current crisis.

“I haven't got the solutions. Honestly, I do not. I'm telling that to all,” Jones remarked.

“It’s just unacceptable. I don't have to wait to consider it. I'm beyond feeling anger inside. I've reached the stage currently where I just don’t have the words.”

He continued, “It's tough because I play for the club I love. I support them, and I’ve seen this club since I was young.”

“In recent memory, I've not seen a Reds side going through a spell such as this with outcomes like these.”

Jones finished, “However we continue to wear the emblem on our chest. And as long as that badge is taken away, we’re always going to fight.”

“We will attempt to help the side back to the top, demonstrate to all once more the values of this club and the reason it's called the best team in the world.”

“But right now, we’re in the shit and it must improve.”
