Trump Business Attempted to Bring In Almost 200 Employees on Visas in 2025

Donald Trump’s family business increased its hiring of foreign workers on short-term work permits this period, even as his administration was placing obstacles for other companies wanting to do the identical, a report released Thursday stated.

Based on information from the US Department of Labor, the business aimed to hire at least nearly 200 overseas employees in 2025 for temporary positions at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago resort, two golf clubs and his winery in Virginia.

The number of applications for H-2A and H-2B visas covering staff including waitstaff, office assistants, cleaning staff, kitchen staff and farm workers was the record filed by the organization, and increased from over 120 in the previous term, when his presidency concluded.

It was also the fifth instance in 10 years that Trump had attempted to bring in more than 100 overseas workers for seasonal jobs at his Florida resort, based on available data.

The revelation comes amid a crackdown on immigration laws by his administration that has involved the introduction of a substantial charge on skilled worker visas; extra scrutiny of the activities of the millions of people who possess US visas; and restrictive new rules for foreign students and journalists.

In total, the business sought to employ over 560 foreign laborers over the five years Trump has been in the White House, from 2017 to 2021 and during 2025.

Notably, Trump was criticized by some in the GOP this period for comments justifying the need for foreign workers when a company was unable to find people with “particular skills” to occupy certain positions.

“You cannot just say a nation is entering, going to invest $10bn to build a facility, and going to take people off an unemployment line who haven’t worked in five years, and they’re going to start producing their missiles. It doesn’t work that effectively,” he told a host after she suggested that foreign workers lower the wages of American employees.

The White House declined a inquiry for response, and the Trump Organization did not immediately respond to an request for information.
